As we go into the month of June, the countdown begins for my last few weeks of a three-month internship in Paris for my term abroad. I am going to be very sad to leave this beautiful city behind but will have so many memories of my time here.
When Andy came to visit last weekend, we kicked off the bank holiday weekend with a trip to Les Quatre Temps shopping centre which in my opinion beats its more-central rival Forum des Halles by a mile with better shops and an all-round less busy shopping experience. This was the perfect chance to pick up some things for our holiday to Skiathos in July, and when your boyfriend initiates the shopping trip, how could any girl say no?!
Over the weekend, we made the most of the incredible sunshine with picnics in the garden watching the rugby and avoided the city tourist traps by instead discovering more beautiful secrets just outside of Paris such as the town of Marly-le-Roi.
I also made sure I took Andy to what I believe is the best creperie in Paris … La Droguerie, located down a little side street in Le Marais. The service is fantastic and the crepes taste incredible!
I am very excited as this weekend, my lovely au pair family are coming to visit me in Paris. This is a surprise for the little girl and I cannot wait to spend the weekend with them, after living with them for a year in the beautiful Rhône-alpes region of France. I was living just across the border from Geneva, an hour from the ski slopes and a few minutes from the amazing Lac Léman, or Lake Geneva. It will be Mathilde’s first time in Paris so I am looking forward to spending the weekend with her and her Mum, playing tourists in the city!
For now, thank you for reading! Don’t forget to subscribe (at the bottom of the page) if you have enjoyed hearing about my adventure.
